I grew up in England. The last place I lived was 112 Winchester Road, Chandlers Ford prior to immigrating to the U.S. I believe Barbara Hillier lived a few doors down from me. I have a brother and nephews still residing in Chandlers Ford. I am currently writing a book about my childhood in the UK and of course Chandlers Ford will be mentioned. I am including the history of the areas i lived in as well as childhood memories. My name was: Pauline (Toni) Saunders as the time I lived in Chandlers Ford (late 50's early 60's).
My brother gave me the book Barbara Hillier wrote in 1984 however I wasn't aware she had written 2 others.

Best Regards.

Toni

Although I live in Chandler's Ford I have only just discovered this interesting website, and was lead to it via a Google search for basket making. Amazingly I was brought to this site and the article on traditional crafts: basket making.

I would be interested to find out who the contributor of this article is, and do they have any specific basketry experience to share?

We are looking to move to Hampshire as my husband has a job in Basingstoke. A town we are considering is Chandler's Ford. We have two young children (one at primary school) any feedback would be much appreciated.

I would suggest that you and your family come down to Chandlers Ford for a few hours and walk and drive around the area.
There are plenty of Estate Agents for you to look at and a number of schools for your children.
