Friends of the Family

Friends of the Family has been established for over 14 years. It is a small, friendly, open group supporting vulnerable parents with pre-school children.
Parents have the opportunity to discuss their anxieties, past and present experiences, hopes and fears, while their children play in a group with experienced play leaders and volunteers.
It is managed by trustees and run by professional staff and volunteers. Families are referred, or can self-refer, by other families, as well as by health visitors, social workers, doctors or by others.
Families are seen initially at home to see if we are the right group for them, and are offered transport for their first visit. The group meets on Tuesday and Friday mornings, at 16 Colebrook Street, Winchester, Hampshire, S023 9LH, where there is a large secluded garden for play on fine days. We stay open throughout the summer holididays.
There is a monthly shared lunch, an outing in the summer, a party at Christmas and we celebrate birthdays. There is a small charge for refreshments, currently 75 pence.
