Community of Chandlers Ford - Hampshire
Chandlers Ford - community including charities, churches, clubs, community sites, education, employment, events, health, helplines, non-profit organisations and stories.
The definition of the word community is 'people having common interests; the public, or people in general; common possession or enjoyment'. The Latin is communis meaning common.
There are about 20,000 people that live in Chandler's Ford in Hampshire and it has grown considerable over recent years to become the place that it is to day. Hundreds of new dwellings, mainly flats have been and still are being built and it has a very shifting population.
With property prices falling and many losing their jobs Chandlers Ford is feeling the effects of this recession already. On a recent walk around the area I noticed that there are an increasing number of dwellings up for rent and you only need to look in the Estate Agencies windows to see that prices are lower than what they were a year ago.
It is in times of hardship that the true colours of a person or for that mater a community shows through and is one of the purposes of this website, to bring people from Chandlers Ford together and to provide a resource whereby we can enjoy the area we live in.
