Girl Guides - United Reform Church - Chandlers Ford

Our Girl Guide Company meets on Friday evenings at the United Reform Church in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire and we usually have about forty out of the possible fortyfive girls in attendance. The company is very ably led by Jinty Williamson assisted by Kim, Steve and Cheryll.

The meetings are well prepared and the Guides are fully occupied with activities covering a wide variety of interests, games, patrol work, planning their camps and recreational activities. Fundraising events include support for a school in one of the slums of Nairobi, Children in Need and the Blue Peter Appeal.

At Christmas 2007 the girls performed a panto for parents and friends and two girls received Baden Powell awards.

During 2008 we have been to see the Sound of Music in London, Camped in Oxford, Foxlease and East Grinstead. We also had an activity at Fairthorne Manor, Curdridge, Southampton. The highlight of the year was a trip to Disneyland in Paris at Easter.
