Turner Sims, Southampton - Concert Hall

If you would like to go out and listen to music but do not want to travel very far this may be a venue just for you as it is only a few miles from Chandlers Ford. They have lunch time concerts which are normally free and evening concerts at about £16 each.

Turner Sims is acknowledged as one of the finest music venues in the country. Hosting over 60 concerts a year, it attracts internationally renowned performers such as Hayley Westenra, Courtney Pine, Jamie Cullum, guitarist John Williams and pianist Alfred Brendel.

Situated on Southampton University’s Highfield Campus, the varied programme includes classical, jazz, folk and world music, as well as talks from personalities such as actor and adventurer Charley Boorman, BBC geologist Iain Stewart, and award-winning travel writer William Dalrymple.

The venue is also available for private hire and is fully licensed for weddings and naming ceremonies.

Turner Sims’ intimate auditorium, outstanding acoustic and garden setting make it a favourite destination for artists and audiences alike.
