Beaulieu - National Motor Museum and Beaulieu Abbey
Have fun for all the Family at Beaulieu. Come to Beaulieu and enjoy a great day out at one of the South’s favourite attractions, where living history characters from the past are brought to life. Join the Victorian house party in Palace House, where you will be able to meet both the house guests and ‘below stairs’ staff.
There will be music in the Lower Drawing Room and, outside on the lawns, Victorian games for the family and playlets to enjoy. See veteran and vintage cars as they motor around the grounds, stop the driver and learn about motoring in days gone by. Take a ride on the high-level Monorail to get a birds-eye view of the cars as you go through the roof of the museum and journey through a hundred years of motoring history on the ‘Wheels’ pod ride. Alternatively, see the sights from the open-topped replica 1912 London Bus.
In the National Motor Museum, there are over 250 vehicles on show from F1 racers and land Speed Record Breakers to classic cars of the 60s 70s and 80s. Don’t miss the new ‘Jaguar Jamboree’ exhibition, showcasing the iconic Jaguar marquee with a selection of vehicles from its illustrious past.
Watch Victorian g
ardener, Ruben Moore, as he tends the Kitchen Garden and meet Brother William, the Cistercian monk who strolls the pathways of Beaulieu’s Abbey Cloister. Listen to his talks on the folk law of herbs and the monks who lived in the Abbey. On selected days, in the Cloister, hear about the history of falconry and see some of these amazing birds up close.
You will be shaken but not stirred by the latest exhibits on display in the James Bond Experience, such as the Aston Martin Volante from ‘The Living Daylights’ and Odd Job’s Bowler Hat as seen in ‘Goldfinger’.
Other exhibits include the original Lotus Submarine car from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, which has twice been voted the nation’s favourite on-screen vehicle.

Visit the Secret Army Exhibition which tells the story of the training of secret agents at the Beaulieu ‘Finishing School’ during WWII. Step aboard the replica 1912 London Bus and hold on tight for a spin around the grounds.
If you want to get in the driving seat, put your foot down and take the chequered flag on the Go-Karts.* Budding young drivers can take to the road on Dipstick’s Driving Circuit** in mini motorised vehicles while younger visitors can get physical on the Mini Motor Play Trail with its Veteran Bus climbing frame, swings and Little Tykes ride-on-cars.
* A good value extra charge applies to this ride.
** Height restrictions apply.
Beaulieu is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
