In a search on Google for 'Food and Drink' it found 52,200,000 items relating to this subject.

However, in our busy West European lives, we properly spend more of our hard earned money on buying either processed products or food and drink that is prepared by someone else. With the supermarkets now our main port of call we can do all our weekly or monthly shop in one go and increasingly our clothes and furniture purchases as well.

So, is the old corner shop finished or have we stopped creating our own dishes? 

I do not think so. With the recent credit crunch many of us will be looking for ways to economise and one such way is to revert back to home made cooking. Already it is known that eating out has reduced and more of us are now staying in rather than going to the restaurant as often as we used to.
