RAF Museum Cosford
There are 70 aircraft on show throughout the Museum, the only National Museum in the West Midlands. Located next to an active airfield and RAF station along with low level barriers, allows excellent viewing, making the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford the perfect place to find out everything about flying.
February 2007 saw the opening of The National Cold War Exhibition. This unique exhibition reflects the social, cultural and political history of the Cold War era 1947 - 1989, in a fun and innovative way. We are offering our visitors a unique experience with our 'Hotspots' - individually themed multi media presentation areas and interactive kiosks for discovering in-depth information.
A major feature of this unique exhibition is Britain's three V Bombers: Vulcan, Victor and Valiant. A number of the 17 aircraft are suspended in flying attitudes, including the Dakota, Canberra, Meteor and Lightning. The exhibition also houses military and civilian transport, missiles and genuine memorabilia.
Children and adults alike will be fascinated by fun 'n' flight, packed with hands on excitement. Hop onto our advanced flight simulator for an instant flying experience. If your hungry, grab a bite to eat at the Aviator Restaurant located in the Visitor Centre which is stocked with a selection of hot and cold meals or the Checkpoint Charlie Café located in The National Cold War Exhibition. Then why not round off your trip with a visit to the well stocked Museum Shop.
The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford is an excellent day out for all the family, whatever the weather!
