Party Games - Cat and Dog

This is a simple game which gets everybody laughing.

One of the players is given two small objects. He passes the first to the person on his right and says,

'Here's the dog!'

'The what?', asks the player on the left.

'The dog!', repeats the first player. And so the dog is passed around the circle, everyone repeating

'Here's the dog!'

'The what?'

'The dog!'

When the second player is passing the dog to the third, the first player hands the second object to the player on the left.

'Here's the cat!' he says.

'The what?', asks the player on the left.

'The cat!', repeats the first player. The cat is also passed around the circle with everyone repeating

'Here's the cat!'

'The what?'

'The cat!'

The real fun starts when the dog and cat cross. It becomes difficult to remember what animal you have in your hand. Anyone getting the two confused has to leave the circle. The faster the dog and the cat are on the move, the more difficult the game becomes until the only person left is the winner.

Have a practice round first without anybody leaving the circle to get everybody in the mood.
