The University of the Third Age

U3A or The University of the Third Age is an international movement run by and for people of any age who are retired or semi-retired. No qualifications are required and none is awarded.

The Chandlers Ford U3A group was formed in March 1998 and now has around 350 members. We meet at 2 pm on the third Monday of each month at the Dovetail Centre of the Methodist Church in Winchester Road, Chandlers Ford.

Members of the U3A have a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience which as a self-help group can be shared with others. We thus have around 40 special interest groups which meet in members homes covering topics such as languages at varying levels, the arts, literature, history and science.

We also have outings to theatres, historic houses and gardens, local places of interest, and countryside walks.

If you live in the Chandlers Ford area and would like to join us then please call 023 8026 9582. The current membership subscription is £10 per person per year. Full details of all events are included in our bi-monthly Newsletter.
