Valley Park Community Association

Valley Park is part of Chandlers Ford and a development that was considered in 1978. Construction commenced in the mid eighties. Built as an add-on to Chandlers Ford but as it has natural defined boundaries it now has its own village identity.

The planning authorities had a vision for approximately 3000 homes with a varied social and age mix.

The name Valley Park is as a result of the natural geographical valley that the development is located in and along which the Monks Brook flows. Also included in the plan was a park for people to enjoy, protected woodlands that are open to the public and a number of children’s play areas.

Facilities include two schools, a church, pub, a community centre, two doctors’ surgeries, a dentist, vet, pharmacy, hair dressers, convenience store, fish & chip take away and a leisure centre.

The Valley Park Community Association provides a online Voice for local residents. It is a charity which exists to promote the interests of the inhabitants of the area. Its aim is to improve the quality of life by bringing together residents, the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to ensure that educational, welfare and leisure facilities are available.
